今懺悔之法，大略有二：初則理懺，二則事懺。此之二懺，通道含俗。

Now, the methods of repentance generally have two types: first, repentance on the level of principle; second, repentance on the level of phenomena. These two forms of repentance pervade both monastics and the laity.
