羯磨者告云：「此白四羯磨，聖教良藥，遵之在心。奪三十五事，是折伏法，勿得有違；執眾勞苦，奉清淨比丘，是調伏法，每事順行；白等八事，是發露法，宜加愧恥，深自剋責，依法而白，不得有失。失者，失宿，自慢慢他。」

The officiant of the karman announces: “This jñapti-caturtha-karman is the good medicine of the noble teaching; keep it in mind. The deprivation of the thirty-five matters is the method of subjection—you must not violate it. Undertaking arduous labor for the assembly and serving pure bhikṣus is the method of taming—comply with every single matter. The eight matters such as announcement are the method of disclosure—you should show heightened shame and remorse, deeply reproaching yourself, and make announcements according to the Dharma without any omission. If you omit them, you will forfeit nights and display arrogance toward yourself and others.”
