The Dharmaguptaka Vinaya states: If someone walking slowly inside the monastery fails to announce, he forfeits the night; if he intended to announce, but the person ahead walked quickly and left the boundary, although he did not announce, he does not forfeit the night and incurs no offense. The Daśādhyāya-vinaya states: If a visiting bhikṣu runs out of the boundary, one should maintain the practice as usual and not run after him, stopping at one's own boundary. If a person practicing parivāsa or the six nights falls ill, he sends a messenger to announce to the Saṃgha: “So-and-so, a person undergoing parivāsa, is ill and unable to come; this is announced to inform the Saṃgha.” He should act fully in accordance with the method of announcing to the Saṃgha in the Dharmaguptaka Vinaya. The Pañcavargika-vinaya states: One bhikṣu who acts according to the Dharma can administer the parivāsa protocol, as stated in the fifth prescription above.
