Second is intrinsic thullaccaya, also called independent [thullaccaya], which is likewise divided into three grades: What is called grave? Stealing food utensils belonging to the Saṃgha or present belongings of the ten directions, stealing four coins, and stealing valuable goods of non-humans, etc., which requires repentance before the great assembly. What is called medium? Schisming a karman Saṃgha; stealing private property or Saṃgha property valued at three coins or less; touching where one is clothed and the other is unclothed, forming the boundary of a saṃghāvaśeṣa; such categories are repented before a small assembly. What is called minor? As the Vinaya says: storing and using human hair, shaving hair in the three places, douching the lower body, walking around naked, wearing tīrthika clothing, keeping a stone bowl, eating raw meat and blood, and the like. The Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya states: tearing the three robes or bowl with an angry mind, damaging a stūpa, and the like, are all thullaccaya, repented with one person. In the Vinaya: under the first and second classes, instructing others to commit a thullaccaya are all consummate offenses, their lightness or gravity being repented in the same way as above.
