First, taking storing overnight within: With reference to place, it does not extend to others' property, nor does it encompass both types of pure ground; but designation, the motion with two announcements, and within the sīmā all apply. In terms of time, it requires passing the appearance of dawn. In relation to persons, it is based solely on the three types of bhikṣus who know of it committing the offense. In the Vinaya, it asks: If pure ground has not been found and the appearance of dawn manifests, a dog brings food, or the wind blows fruit down? The Vinaya states: If not known, there is no offense. For nuns, it extends to four persons, all as above. Concerning food, things detached from the ground all apply to the offense; things not detached from the ground, or not yet fully grown, incur no offense; those already fully grown, having encountered frost, and so forth, are all subject to the overnight limit. The discussion regarding the four medicines is as above.
