二能授人，作三法：一火淨已後，無變生過；二與餘藥別（謂含時食等藥）；三施心授與，情相領當。

The conferrer performs three requirements: (1) after fire purification, it must be free from the fault of reverting to a raw state; (2) it must be distinguished from other medicines (meaning medicines containing time-appropriate food, etc.); and (3) he confers it with the intention to give, with minds mutually corresponding.
