《毘尼母》：若治塔奉僧，治僧坊人，計其功勞，當償作價，並須籌量；違法得罪，損他施利。若彼病者，慈心施食，隨病所宜；若非隨病食，施得罪也。嬰兒、獄囚、懷妊等，慈心施之，勿望後報。

The Vinayamātṛkā states: "If someone repairs a stūpa, serves the saṃgha, or repairs monastic dwellings, one should calculate their labor and compensate them with wages, all of which must be appraised; violating the rules incurs an offense and harms the offerings and benefits of others. If someone is ill, give food with a mind of compassion according to what suits the illness; if food is given that does not suit the illness, the giver incurs an offense. To infants, prisoners, pregnant women, and the like, give with a mind of compassion, without expecting any recompense later."
