次為說五德，如《福田經》云：一者發心出家，懷佩道故；二者毀其形好，應法服故；三者委棄身命，遵崇道故；四者永割親愛，無適莫故；五者志求大乘，為度人故。

Next, explain the five virtues for them, as the Sutra on Merit Fields states: First, generating the mind to renounce household life because of embracing the path; second, marring one's handsome appearance because of conforming to the Dharma robes; third, casting aside life and limb because of revering the path; fourth, permanently severing dear relations because of having neither preference nor aversion; fifth, aspiring to seek the Mahāyāna because of delivering people.
