若通行者。大僧說戒日，沙彌多具華香湯水，供僧眾具，於布薩處，張施羅列。鳴稚將了，並須盡集；有緣，囑授受籌。大僧作法，一如常式。至說戒序訖，戒師云：「未受具戒者出。」諸沙彌等各從座起；執坐具，在僧前禮已，互跪；上座告云：「此眾僧布薩說戒，汝未受具足，不豫聞之；各隨本業誦習，謹慎莫放逸！至鳴稚時，同赴堂來。」告已，隨次出。

As for collective practice: On the day the fully ordained monks recite the precepts, the śrāmaṇeras mostly prepare flowers, incense, hot water, and communal provisions for the saṃgha, arranging and setting them out at the upoṣadha site. When the sounding of the ghaṇṭī is about to end, all must gather; if there is a cause, they entrust their proxies and receive salākās. The fully ordained monks perform the ritual, entirely according to the standard form. When the prologue to the recitation of the precepts concludes, the precept master says: “Let those who have not received the full precepts withdraw.” The śrāmaṇeras each rise from their seats; holding their sitting cloths, they bow before the saṃgha and kneel on one knee. The sthavira instructs them, saying: “This is the saṃgha's upoṣadha recitation of the precepts. You have not received the full precepts and may not participate in hearing it; each pursue your primary tasks in recitation and study, be careful and do not be indolent! When the ghaṇṭī sounds, proceed together to the hall.” Having been instructed, they withdraw in orderly sequence.
