若別行者。沙彌有都集處，鳴稚訖，二眾各集（《十誦》，令差一沙彌撿挍）。行法一同僧中。行籌訖，將至僧中，付僧維那，總合唱數；彼送籌者，還來本處。差一人為說戒師，誦《沙彌戒經》，謂《愛道尼經》，及五德十數等。若誦訖，僧中未徹者，隨時誦經說法。至鳴稚時，總來赴堂；隨次入僧中，於常坐處，互跪合掌；彼說戒師，為說明人能護戒已後文。此與大僧相涉行用，看僧說戒中。若自恣者，準說戒中，別堂作法，送籌合唱。若通作者，僧自恣已，五德來向沙彌處；互跪，說僧自恣之文，以犯舉兩通故。

As for separate practice: The śrāmaṇeras have a collective gathering place; after the sounding of the ghaṇṭī has ended, the two assemblies each assemble (the *Daśādhyāya-vinaya* directs that one śrāmaṇera be appointed to oversee this). The execution of the ritual is entirely identical to that among the bhikṣus. When the distribution of salākās is finished, they bring them before the bhikṣus and hand them to the bhikṣu karmadāna, who combines and announces the total count; the one who brought the salākās then returns to their original place. One person is appointed as the precept-recitation master to recite the *Śrāmaṇera Precept Sūtra*, namely the *Mahāprajāpatī-bhikṣuṇī Sūtra*, as well as the five virtues, the ten counts, and so forth. If the recitation is finished but the bhikṣus have not yet concluded, he recites sūtras and expounds the Dharma according to the occasion. When the ghaṇṭī sounds, they all proceed to the hall; entering among the bhikṣus in orderly sequence, they kneel on one knee with palms joined at their customary seats; that precept-recitation master explains the text following “one who is able to guard the precepts.” For the interdependent practices involving the fully ordained monks, consult the section on the bhikṣus' recitation of the precepts. In the case of pravāraṇā, following the pattern of the precept recitation, they perform the ritual in a separate hall, send salākās, and combine the announcement. If practiced collectively, after the bhikṣus have completed pravāraṇā, the five-virtued one comes to the śrāmaṇeras' location; kneeling on one knee, he recites the text of the bhikṣus' pravāraṇā, because both committing and pointing out offenses apply to both.
