《僧祇》云：應學十八法：一在大尼下，沙彌尼上坐。二式叉不淨食，大尼淨；大尼不淨食，彼亦不淨。三大尼得與三宿，自與沙彌尼三宿。四得與大尼授食，除火淨五生種、取金銀錢；自從沙彌尼受食。五尼不得為說七聚名。六得語云：不淫盜殺妄，如是等憶持。七、八至布薩自恣日，入僧中，互跪合掌云：「阿梨耶僧，我某甲清淨，僧憶持！」三說而退。九、十、十一、十二，後四波羅夷，犯者更從始學。十三、十九，僧殘已下，若犯，一一作吉羅悔。餘如彼說。

The Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya states: "She should learn eighteen rules: 1. Sitting below the full bhikṣuṇīs and above the śrāmaṇerīs. 2. Food that is impure for a śikṣamāṇā is pure for a full bhikṣuṇī; food that is impure for a full bhikṣuṇī is also impure for her. 3. Full bhikṣuṇīs may stay three nights with her; she herself may stay three nights with a śrāmaṇerī. 4. She may offer food to full bhikṣuṇīs, except for purifying the five kinds of viable seeds with fire and handling gold, silver, or coins; she herself receives food from a śrāmaṇerī. 5. Bhikṣuṇīs must not recite the names of the seven categories of offenses for her. 6. She may be told: 'Do not commit sexual misconduct, steal, kill, or lie,' and remember and uphold these. 7 and 8. Arriving on the days of upoṣadha and pravāraṇā, she enters the saṃgha, kneels on alternating knees with palms joined, and says: 'Noble Saṃgha, I, so-and-so, am pure; may the Saṃgha bear me in mind!' She speaks this three times and withdraws. 9, 10, 11, 12. For the latter four pārājikas, if she commits them, she begins training anew. 13 through 18. For saṃghāvaśeṣa on down, if she commits them, she repents each one as a duṣkṛta. The rest is as stated there."
