In the Vinayavibhāṣā, regarding clothing received from a cart, clothing awaited for a month, clothing kept past ten days, an almsbowl kept past ten days, rain garments, and urgent gifts, after they are forfeited to the saṃgha, the saṃgha asks who needs them and they should be returned, whereupon they may be used; if one has no use for them oneself, they are permanently forfeited into the saṃgha. Clothing received from an unrelated bhikṣuṇī is forfeited and returned to the original bhikṣuṇī; if the original bhikṣuṇī is not present, it is forfeited to the bhikṣuṇī-saṃgha. Having a bhikṣuṇī wash clothing and diverting saṃgha property are permanently forfeited to the saṃgha. For clothing begged from unrelated kulapatis, if from one or two kulapatis, it should be forfeited and returned to them; if they are not present or do not accept it, it is forfeited to the saṃgha. Exceeding what is sufficient, three requests, all bedding, and clothing made by employing weavers are all forfeited to the saṃgha. Clothing snatched away with an angry mind is returned and forfeited to the bhikṣu against whom anger was held. Regarding seven-day medicines, there are two uses, the text being fully detailed therein.
