《薩婆多》云：販賣物，若無同心淨人，應作四方僧臥具，為止誹謗。若作入佛，外道當言：瞿曇沙門，多貪利故，令弟子捨物，持用自入。又除佛福田，無過四方僧；不問受法不受法，持戒毀戒，法語非法語，一切無遮。

The Sarvāstivāda-vinaya-vibhāṣā states: Regarding merchandise, if there is no like-minded kappiyakāraka, it should be made into bedding for the cāturdiśa-saṃgha in order to put an end to slander. If it were made to enter [the property of] the Buddha, tīrthikas would say, "The recluse Gautama is exceedingly greedy for profit; thus he has his disciples forfeit property and takes it for his own personal entry." Furthermore, aside from the Buddha's merit field, nothing surpasses the cāturdiśa-saṃgha; regardless of whether they have received the Dharma or not received the Dharma, whether they observe the precepts or violate the precepts, whether they speak according to Dharma or speak contrary to Dharma, there are no obstructions whatsoever.
