Precept 88: Exceeding the standard measure for an itch-covering cloth (kuṇḍūpraticchādana). The Vinaya states: It is used to cover various wounds on the body, over which the nivāsana is worn. One may use costly, fine, and soft cloth to make it. It is eight feet long and four feet wide by the Ji-Zhou ruler. Non-offenses are generally similar to the preceding precept. The Daśādhyāya-vinaya states: Even up to ten days after the wounds heal; exceeding this incurs a pāyattika.
