Fourth, clarifying that after having left household life, one practices ordinary sinful deeds. The Mahāratnakūṭa Sūtra states: Leaving household life has two kinds of bondage: first, the bondage of views; second, the bondage of offerings and support. It has two carbuncles: first, seeking to see others' faults; second, concealing one's own offenses. The sūtra also says: There are two poisoned arrows that simultaneously shoot his heart: first, wrong livelihood for the sake of gain; second, delighting in fine robes and bowls. The Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra states: After my parinirvāṇa, in the defiled and evil age, there will be many who, for the sake of hunger, give rise to the mind to leave household life, termed bald-headed persons; seeing pure bhikṣus who uphold the precepts, possess complete deportment, and protect and uphold the true Dharma, they drive them out, or kill them, or harm them. If we discuss sinful deeds, five kinds may be provisionally listed: namely, greed, anger, affection for relatives, seeking profit, and stinginess and jealousy. All are cited according to the specific matter as in the Separate Commentary.
