First, using solely the single Dharmaguptaka Vinaya. If it exists [in the text], one uses it according to the text; if absent, one does not adopt external lineages. Therefore, the thirteen chapter gates in the Vinaya classify goods exhaustively, with only the two distinctions of heavy and light. If adjudicating: all robes, bowls, sitting mats, robe-holding vessels, needle cases, kuyama vessels, carpets of proper measure, razors, and such goods enter the light; among all other utensils, those not listed by name are all judged to enter the heavy. If there are monastic and lay garments, they enter the light; using the measure of carpets as a standard, if they exceed it, they enter the heavy. This is the definitive determination of this single school; there is no second alternative, and it cannot be suppressed or altered.
