The final heading is divided into three parts: first, specific pointing out; from "that is, below...", citing evidence; from "therefore, below...", concluding with an exhortation. The upper two sentences point out the fault to exhort. From "if one must..." onward, it exhorts with reference to offenses. "If one must go against..." and so forth indicates the gravity of violating the prohibition. "Entangled in binding karma" indicates how deeply one transgresses principle. "Drifting in the ocean of suffering" refers to the longevity of undergoing retribution. In secular law there is the term "requesting [clemency from] above," which by analogy in the Vinaya means: listing the offenses committed and separately requesting a reduction of penalty; the ten unwholesome deeds do not utilize this legal avenue, which means they are "not subject to request," signifying that [the punishment] is already fixed. Now, openly violating the teaching like this, where the subjective fault is already evident, falls under the category of offenses and therefore does not await request. From "utmost..." onward is the direct exhortation. "Utmost admonitions such as this" refers to the prohibitions of the Vinaya above.
