僧對略中，初標難緣。五下，五德白告。便下，眾僧對說。疏云：不對五德有三略，如百人為五十對，一時彼此三說再說一說也。三說，望法是廣，對人為略。下二人法俱略；單白中，唯改再一為異。

In the abbreviation of declaring to the sangha, it first marks the conditions of difficulty. 'The five,' below: the [monks of] five virtues announce by jñapti. 'Then,' below: the bhikṣus declare to each other. The Commentary says: 'Not facing the five virtues has three abbreviations: as when one hundred people form fifty pairs, simultaneously declaring to one another three times, twice, or once.' Declaring three times is extensive regarding the Dharma, but abbreviated regarding the persons. Below, both the persons and the Dharma are abbreviated; in the single jñapti, the only difference is changing to twice or once.
