妄陳中。犯三提者，以三說故；一一人邊，皆結三罪。（舊云望三比丘各得一提者，非也。以前對一二，不必定故。）不下，簡異。彼不形言，犯緣缺故。

Under "falsely stating [purity]": incurring three pāyattikas is because of the threefold declaration; before each person, three offenses are incurred in each case. (The old view saying that one incurs one pāyattika each relative to the three bhikṣus is incorrect, because regarding the previous [cases] facing one or two, it is not necessarily so.) The phrase beginning with "no" distinguishes the differences: those do not manifest in words, so the conditions for an offense are lacking.
