Regarding other schools: the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya has ten kinds: (1) Relinquishment upon completing the robe (after receiving it, one forms the thought: "When the robe is completed, I will relinquish it," and upon subsequent completion, it is relinquished); (2) Relinquishment at the time of receiving (forming the thought: "When I receive [another] robe, I will relinquish it," and upon subsequent reception, it is relinquished); (3) Relinquishment at the end of the term (forming the thought: "After such an amount of time I will relinquish it," and when the period expires, it is relinquished); (4) Relinquishment upon hearing (forming the thought: "When I hear that the upādhyāya or ācārya relinquishes it, I will relinquish it," and upon subsequently hearing it, it is relinquished); (5) Relinquishment upon sending (forming the thought: "After giving this robe to another, I will relinquish it," and upon sending it, it is relinquished); (6) Relinquishment upon spoiling (after receiving it, one says to oneself in the interim: "I now relinquish it," and as soon as such words are spoken, it is relinquished); (7) Relinquishment upon loss (forming the thought: "If this robe becomes damaged, lost, and no longer appears in the interim, I will relinquish it," and upon being damaged or lost, it is relinquished); (8) Relinquishment upon departing (forming the thought: "Living here, when I depart I will relinquish it," and upon departing, it is relinquished); (9) Relinquishment upon exceeding the term (as cited in the Manual, where it says one incurs a vinayātikrama); (10) Final relinquishment (on the fifteenth day of the twelfth month, one person in the Saṃgha announces: "Venerable Saṃgha! Today the Saṃgha relinquishes the kathina robe," repeated three times). Pointing to other schools: the Mahiśāsaka-vinaya has eight causes of loss: (1) Expiration of the term (which is "exceeding the term" in the Mahāsāṃghika); (2) Loss of the robe; (3) Loss upon hearing; (4) Departing far away; (5) Severance of hope (these four are the same as the Dharmaguptaka above); (6) The cloth crossing the boundary (taking the kathina cloth outside the boundary overnight); (7) The person crossing the boundary (same as the Dharmaguptaka: the bearer crosses the boundary to spend the night); (8) Relinquishment by jñaptidvitīyā karmavācanā (the Dharmaguptaka has a simple jñapti). The Vinayadvāviṃśatividyā-śāstra has eight: (1) Completion; (2) Attainment (not yet clear); (3) Departure (same as "departing" above); (4) Loss; (5) Hearing; (6) Exceeding the status (that is, exceeding the term); (7) Severance of hope; (8) Mutual eradication (removing it by formal ritual). The ten kinds are as in the Mahāsāṃghika above. Below, where it says "Each according to...", it explains the overall intention of the texts. Violating the original intention is based on the majority; in between, there are also cases of formal rituals or exceeding the term.
