In the *Daśādhyāya-vinaya*, the deficiencies of business in the origin story are eight, explained in four passages. From "there being no person" downward is the deficiency of giving signals; this is precisely what is used now, and those below are cited in connection with it. From "moreover" downward is the deficiency of physical tasks. From "and" downward is the deficiency of giving instructions; that text speaks of worms in bitter wine, but here it says "food", adapting what is specific to follow what is general. From "drinking" downward is the deficiency of managing the assembly. From "the Buddha" downward explains the establishment of the rule. It clarifies that the signaling mentioned above is performed by a bhikṣu. (Also, by analogy, serving water also extends to bhikṣus.) Citing other texts below to explain the names can be understood.
