《十誦》文見五十四。彼先問云：若眾僧睡眠，擯一比丘，得名擯不？若聞下，引彼答詞。聞白成者，既知所為，情和已彰故。具二者，瘂聾兼也。結文寫誤，合云十一；然彼實有十二，而白衣一人，由體非故，摘歸後科。餘如後解。

The passage from the *Daśādhyāya-vinaya* appears in fascicle fifty-four. It first asks: "If the Saṅgha is asleep and expels a bhikṣu, is it called an expulsion or not?" From "if hearing" onward, it cites its reply. One who hears the jñapti succeeds because, since he already knows the business, his emotional harmony has already been manifested. "Endowed with both" means combining both muteness and deafness. The concluding text has a scribal error and should say eleven; however, that text actually has twelve, but because the one white-robed person's essence is deficient, he is extracted and placed in the later section. The rest is explained below.
