In the third part, first it shows abuses, of which there are two. First, the circumstance is acceptable but the transaction is not: "entrusting a message" means sending an envoy to go and report; "telling a śrāmaṇera" is also the same as sending an envoy, merely conveying words. From "Or there are..." onward is the second: both circumstance and Dharma are improper. The two passages cited above were precisely to refute this; because without illness there is no valid circumstance, and to abbreviate arbitrarily is not according to the Dharma. First, it judges it as invalid. The character liang 量 should be liang 良 ("truly"), a phonetic error. From "Therefore..." onward shows its rationale. Using the sick as an example for the healthy is difficult to establish in principle. The reason why the concluding words still vacillate is that because there is no clear text, it is judged provisionally according to principle; moreover, the abbreviation is an exception opened by the Vinaya, and seeking to adopt its general meaning cannot be done unidirectionally, hence it is said to be difficult to determine. However, present practice must not follow lenience; if one is sick but capable, one must also speak extensively, only then matching the Sage's intent.
