引證中。即本律增一中文。彼云：佛在跋闍國池水邊，告諸比丘：汝謂我以何心為汝說法耶？鈔引答詞，略眾生二字。

In citing proof: This is the text from the Ekottara section of our Vinaya. It says there: The Buddha was beside a pool in the Vṛji country, and addressed the bhikṣus: “With what mind do you think I preach the Dharma to you?” The Transactions Manual quotes the words of response, omitting the two words “sentient beings.”
