In the brief demonstration, there are two: first, directly demonstrating validity and invalidity. What is the lower three sentences clarifies validity. "Distinct marks" are the matters subsumed by the legal transaction. What is the lower four sentences clarifies invalidity. For instance, exclusively mental determination is restricted solely to three matters; if other matters are added, it is subsumed under invalidity. Up to jñapti-caturthā, which is applied solely to thirty-eight matters; if matters such as poṣadha, pravāraṇā, assignment, or boundary-establishment are added, it is called non-dharma. The eight statuses are exemplified like this and can be known. This refers to adding matters according to the legal transaction, revealing invalidity through mutual crossing, wishing to make beginning students briefly recognize their marks. From "if wishing" downward, pointing to the doctrinal seven invalidities. Saying "to make it known throughout" is because the above text only clarified that legal transactions have invalidities, but had not yet revealed that the lower three all have invalidities. "This gate" comprehensively refers to the single section on mutual subsumption. "Upper and lower" refers to the four preceding and following statuses. Each has its marks of invalidity, and following their status they are comprehensively gathered, hence it is said to "traverse and encompass"; that is, as in the next section where single and compound form clauses, their marks can be seen. "Shù" means hoping; "èr" means difference.
