In proclaiming from the outside, it first narrates the source of faults. From "As…" downward presents the marks of laxity, divided into three: first, showing their method of proclamation. From "Due south…" downward, second, deducing the faults and laxity. This is spoken with respect to the temple gate being situated between the walls, hence having the fault of two proclamations, inside and outside, as shown in the diagram below. If the temple gate is aligned with the inside and outside of the wall, there is also no such defect. This is explained according to location and is not necessarily always like this. From "Therefore know…" downward, third, teaches proclaiming and establishing according to the Dharma following the bends. When later carrying out legal acts, there will be no defect of a separate assembly, and thus no regret. From "Also…" downward prevents laxity. However, at the time of carrying out transactions, if the fences and walls bend extensively and deeply, one must set up markers and characteristics, from such a place to such a place. If the demarcation is clear and there are few detours, fearing that it would become cumbersome, briefly saying "following the bends" is also without fault. One merely needs to ensure that the proclaimer and the monks of common affiliation recognize the place. In recent times, someone calculated its dimensions in feet and inches and inserted them into the characteristics, which became far too petty and detailed; it is not necessary to be like this.
