次結大界，唱相中，總別唱者。別即內外各唱，總謂逐遍合唱。若行別唱者，先三唱內相竟，結云此是大界內相三周訖；復次三唱外相竟，結云此是大界外相三周訖，然後通結云：此是大界內外相各三周訖，不須同下云彼此等；以是別唱，無相濫故。雖文出總法，而別唱便易，今宜從別。

Next, in binding the great boundary, under proclaiming landmarks: regarding proclaiming separately or jointly—separate means proclaiming inner and outer individually; joint means proclaiming them together in each round. If one carries out separate proclamation: first, proclaim the inner landmarks three times, concluding with “This completes the three rounds of the inner landmarks of the great boundary”; next, proclaim the outer landmarks three times, concluding with “This completes the three rounds of the outer landmarks of the great boundary”; then conclude jointly with “This completes three rounds each of the inner and outer landmarks of the great boundary.” There is no need to say “these and those” as below, because since it is a separate proclamation, there is no mutual confusion. Although the text sets forth the joint method, separate proclamation is easier and more convenient, so now it is appropriate to follow the separate [method].
