奪行中。前加羯磨，表眾同治；折辱剛強，正存奪行；觀其違順，驗其剛柔；取舍審量，斯為正要。

In the curtailment of practices, the previous imposition of the karmavācanā expresses that the Saṃgha joins in the disciplinary treatment; crushing the unyielding precisely resides in the curtailment of practices. Observing his compliance or defiance, examining his obstinacy or gentleness, and assessing what to adopt or reject are precisely what is essential.
