1.65

結示中。上句屬佛，下句屬鈔主。據本制懷，臨事處斷；則輕重合教，萬無一失。料簡七種。初受隨簡，一是背於受體，餘六制於隨行。二就行中止作簡，二三四五是止，第七是作，六通止作。三就止中能所簡，第二是所犯罪，三四即所對境，五即能犯心。如是知之。

In the concluding explanation: the upper sentence belongs to the Buddha, and the lower sentence belongs to the author of the Manual. Relying on the original intent of the institution, when facing matters one makes determinations; then the heavy and light accord with the teaching, without any error. An analysis of the seven kinds: First, differentiation between reception and subsequent [practice]: the first is turning away from the reception-essence, while the remaining six regulate subsequent practice. Second, differentiation between omission and commission within practice: the second, third, fourth, and fifth are omission; the seventh is commission; and the sixth pertains to both omission and commission. Third, differentiation between agent and object within omission: the second is the offense committed; the third and fourth are the objective conditions faced; and the fifth is the mind capable of committing the offense. Understand it in this manner.
