In "Explaining That the Way Brings Resonance," the opening shows the reason for what is brought in resonance. "Yet..." explains the sense of there being no lack. In the note, worldly matters are cited as an exhortation; it first brings forward the affair. The line starting with "Also..." is from the *Analects*. (It says there: "Taking only when it is righteous, people do not tire of their taking." This explains that for this righteous food, the matter being appropriate, people are also glad to give, and thus it is inexhaustible.) "This..." onward is the direct exhortation; it first points to the preceding matter as an analogy. "Moreover..." cites worldly etiquette as an analogy. This is also a passage from the *Analects*. (It says there: "The gentleman seeks the Way, not food.") "I..." onward laments the times and reiterates admonitions. "Amassing" refers to gathering in large quantities; "matter" refers to food and drink.
