Under "Admonishing Against the Six Classes [of Offenses]": How does this differ from the initial admonition? Answer: The former was in the assembly, addressing broad, coarse, and violent behavior where the mind-nature had not yet been subdued, merely saying there were faults without stating which class. In the text, it first offers general counsel. "Seeing..." onward is the second [part], examining the offense and urging deśanā. To reverse the above statement means: first, seeing the offense; second, having offended, being able to repent. The note instructing to cite a sūtra refers to its saying: "Do not say a small offense carries no retribution; although drops of water are minute, they gradually fill a large vessel." As for other sūtras, it is not yet clear from which text [they come]. Among the five unwholesome things: first is cutting off good already arisen; second is producing evil not yet arisen; third is violating the teaching; fourth is obstructing the Path; fifth is the future retribution.
