敘緣中。六句三意,次第相生。初明心廣緣多。上句躡上超入。下云緣多者,即下五位總別諸相。(有云緣多即法界境者,甚非文意。)次二句明緣多事難。法事者,目下正加。攸即語詞,或可作尤。下二句明事難須審。
Under "Recounting Conditions", six sentences contain three points, arising in succession. First, it explains that the mind is broad and conditions are numerous. The preceding sentence builds upon the transcendence mentioned above. What follows, saying that conditions are numerous, refers to the general and specific marks of the five ranks below. (Some say that conditions being numerous refers to the realm of the Dharmadhātu, which departs completely from the text's meaning.) The next two sentences explain that when conditions are numerous, the affair is difficult. "Dharma proceedings" designates what is presently performed. *You* is a grammatical particle, or it may be read as *you* [especially]. The final two sentences explain that since the affair is difficult, it requires close scrutiny.
