請儀中，初定處所，前示《四分》文通。古有定執在眾，故此決破。《疏》云：必預須受，前一年一月，亦無傷也。今下，據他部對眾。次引《僧祇》，示請詞之異（《五分》亦爾）。下引《五分》，明致敬之極。

In the ritual of request, first it determines the location; previously it was shown that the text of the *Four-Part Vinaya* is flexible. The ancients stubbornly insisted on [doing it] in the assembly, hence this is settled and refuted. The Commentary states: "If it must be received in advance, doing so a year or a month beforehand also causes no harm." From "Now" downward, it relies on other schools [for requesting] before the assembly. Next, it cites the *Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya* to show the differences in the words of request (the *Five-Part Vinaya* is also like this). Below, it cites the *Five-Part Vinaya* to clarify the utmost expression of respect.
