Under the second recollection, not accepting invitations: according to the Annotated Karmavācanā, the words "I now" are an error, and should be "I always." Only when all three say "always" does it differ from accepting invitations. Most people nowadays recite "eating the saṃgha's regular food"; this is restricted to those who do not accept invitations, so how could it be used indiscriminately! Also, saying "if there is an invitation, not turning one's back" means having the intention that without an invitation one eats the saṃgha's food, and with an invitation one goes to the other's invitation, speaking of two expectations; if it is indiscriminately applied like this, how could it be called resolute mindfulness? Deliberations of false sentiments completely violate Vinaya inspection; therefore one must make the recollection firm at dawn, not allowing later changes. There are also those who, having recollected, still comply with others' invitations; their greedy feelings indulge at will, with no means of restraint.
