示別緣中，初引示。細詳教意，若唯對俗，事非正要。縱不能答，亦無大損。故知託彼為緣，終歸繫念。準下，教隨方對俗。通相謂不言黑白。允，猶順也。

Under showing special conditions: first, citing to show them. Carefully considering the intention of the teaching, if it is only for facing the secular, the matter is not essential. Even if one cannot answer, there is no great loss. Therefore one knows that using that as a condition ultimately returns to fixing the attention. Below "zhun" (according to), teaching adaptation to local customs in facing the secular. The general mark means not speaking of bright or dark. "Yun" (accord) means to comply.
