三中。佛度比丘，即善來受者；隨身制物，自然所感。引聖況凡，理須恒具。針斧二物，補衣須用；據論為制，在《律》歸聽。

In the third: the bhikṣus crossed over by the Buddha are those received through the 'ehi-bhikṣu' formula; their personal prescribed items are naturally evoked by their karma. Drawing on the noble to illustrate the ordinary, in principle they must be constantly possessed. The two items of needle and axe are necessary for mending robes; according to the treatises they are prescribed, while in the Vinaya they are classified as permitted.
