列德中。《律》中因制依止，有新受戒者，受人依止，多起非法，故制十歲；又有十歲愚癡比丘，受他依止，多造非法，復制十夏有智慧者；又有自謂有智慧者，受人依止，復制闍梨行法令教誡等。此三必具，闕一不成。下指共行法，與前無別。

Under 'Listing the Virtues': Because in establishing dependence in the Vinaya, there were newly ordained monks who accepted people into dependence and committed many unlawful acts, the ten-vassa requirement was therefore enacted. Furthermore, there were foolish monks of ten vassas who accepted others into dependence and committed many unlawful acts, so it was further enacted that one must have ten vassas and possess wisdom. Furthermore, there were those who considered themselves wise and accepted people into dependence, so the dharmas of conduct for an ācārya were further enacted to require instructional admonition and the like. These three must all be complete; if one is lacking, it is invalid. Below, pointing to the dharmas of shared conduct, it is no different from before.
