In the next section, the first four lines first show the sentiments and views. 'Full' is like feeling weary of. 'Rarely performed' refers to acts such as establishing simās and receiving confessions; 'frequently done' refers to the regular practice every half-month. From 'compared to...' below, it directly reprimands: the first two lines reprimand negligence and slight. From 'truly...' below, it traces the reason. 'Daily stained' means what is constantly practiced; 'repeatedly heard' means reciting twice a month, hence repeated and frequent. From 'by this...' below, it concludes with a lament. 'Sentiments' are delusive conditions that fluctuate along with objects; loving this and hating that, valuing the rare and disdaining the frequent. Lodged in this single matter, ordinary sentiments are sufficiently seen, hence it says 'it can be known'. Even at that time it was still like this, how much more so nowadays! Monasteries are numerous, yet those who practice it are all the fewer. Even where there are places that practice it, it is done out of unavoidable necessity. Is this not due to past karma, that we are born to meet such a time? Those who are mindful of the Path must cherish and respect it.
