但標名列緣而不釋者，末世事稀；若復委明，不濟時要；前後諸戒有略皆爾；不知此旨，全迷鈔宗。然恐初學臨文致壅，故略引釋，餘廣如疏。初緣重屋，平地非犯。（疏有四緣，第二云薄覆，明易陷也。）

Only indicating the title and listing the conditions without explaining them is because in the final age such matters are rare; if explained in detail again, it would not serve the urgent needs of the times; in various precepts earlier and later, abbreviations are all like this; not knowing this purpose leads to total confusion regarding the tenets of the Manual. However, fearing that beginners facing the text would meet with obstruction, I briefly cite explanations; for the rest, it is extensive as in the Commentary. The first condition is an upper story; on level ground it is not an offense. (The Commentary has four conditions; the second says 'thin covering', explaining that it easily collapses.)
