Second, detachable legs: the Vinaya says 'the leg inserted into the mortise' (the Commentary says: this indicates it will soon detach). Third, sitting or lying incurring an offense: the extensive explanation considers only lying down an offense; here, following the prātimokṣa, sitting and lying down equally incur an offense. In the Vinaya, sitting on a single-seat bed, a single-plank bed, or a bathing bed all incur duṣkṛtas. Non-offenses: sitting on a bed with turned legs, straight legs, curved legs, or legless beds (all meaning they do not detach); or if the bed's supports are large (even if detached, there is something supporting it); or if the detachable legs are fitted with thin waists (meaning there are pegs and fastenings); or an upper story with plank covering, thick covering, etc.; or sitting on a plank bed (meaning supported by planks); or sitting on a bed with detached legs (having removed the legs); these are all exceptions.
