五僧殘。墮大叫地獄。人間八百年，為天一日；二萬四千年為一月，二十八萬八千年為一年，二百八十八萬年為十年，二千八百八十萬年為百年，二十八千八百萬年為一千年；八箇二十八千萬，即二百二十四千萬；八箇八百萬，為六千四百萬，共計二百三十千四百萬為八千歲。（大數以論，即二百三十億四十千歲；經本作三十千歲，字誤。）

Fifth, saṃghāvaśeṣa: one falls into the Mahāraurava hell. Eight hundred human years equal one celestial day; twenty-four thousand years equal one month, two hundred eighty-eight thousand years equal one year, two million eight hundred eighty thousand years equal ten years, twenty-eight million eight hundred thousand years equal one hundred years, two hundred eighty-eight million years equal one thousand years; eight times two hundred eighty million is two billion two hundred forty million; eight times eight million is sixty-four million, totaling two billion three hundred four million for eight thousand years. (Calculated in the major system, this is two hundred thirty yi and forty "thousand" years; the sūtra text has "thirty thousand years", which is an erroneous character.)
