四十。（佛在舍衛，跋難陀與商賈為檀越，便語云：欲得雜食，彼問何患思此？答言無患，但意欲耳，彼譏因制。）
[Precept] Forty. (When the Buddha was at Śrāvastī, Upananda acted as dānapati for merchants, and said to them: "I want to obtain mixed food." They asked: "From what affliction do you long for this?" He replied: "There is no affliction; I merely desire it." They criticized him, and on this account it was prohibited.)
