八十八。（佛在舍衛，比丘患瘡，聽作覆瘡衣，六群大作故制。）此下三戒，並不列緣；例上尼師壇作之，但改初緣為異。

[Pāyattika] 88. (The Buddha was in Śrāvastī. A bhikṣu suffered from a boil/sore, and the Buddha permitted him to make an itch-cloth; because the group of six made it too large, he laid down the prohibition.) The three precepts below do not list their conditions; they follow the precedent of the niṣīdana above, only differing by changing the first condition.
