Explaining the intent: 'The various categories' refers to the chapters above and below. 'Several tens' refers to explaining fifty-odd items below. Looking back against the various chapters, it therefore says 'again related'. Since this chapter is abbreviated, students are often confused; or when temporarily needed, how could one not recognize them! Therefore, now in this record, I point them out according to their concomitant marks and thoroughly explain the teaching's intention, as in the Prātimokṣa Commentary. Furthermore, while the previous precepts all listed conditions for offenses, why does this one alone not have them? Because intentional and mistaken [actions] are both prohibited; every movement constitutes an offense. If one must forcibly establish them, they should possess five conditions, such as: 1. It is a nivāsana (undergarment). 2. Knowing it. 3. Free of extenuating circumstances (various exceptions like illness). 4. Not neatly arranged. 5. Wearing it constitutes an offense. The rest can be understood by analogy with this.
