中卷題號，竝同前釋。文列四篇，總明自行；無非離惡，護本所受。約行次第，德成有用，合為上卷；今望住持，功有勝劣，故居次焉。

The title of the middle fascicle is explained the same as before. The text sets forth four chapters, collectively clarifying personal practice; all consist in departing from evil and protecting what was originally received. Following the sequence of practice, when virtue is accomplished, it becomes useful; thus they are combined into the upper fascicle. Now, looking at the maintenance of the Dharma, its efficacy has superior and inferior aspects; hence it occupies the next position.
