列篇中。上下諸篇，皆宗羯磨；此卷四篇，竝依戒本。前三精持，後一犯悔。又上三中，前二隨文，第三總義。又上二中，初解通名，二釋別相。有斯諸異，所以分之。

In the enumeration of chapters: all the chapters above and below take karmavācanā as their primary guide; the four chapters of this fascicle all rely on the Prātimokṣa. The first three pertain to precise maintenance, and the last one pertains to offenses and repentance. Moreover, among the upper three, the first two follow the text, and the third concerns the general doctrine. Furthermore, among the first two, the first explains the general names, and the second clarifies specific marks. Because of these various differences, they are divided.
