2.2051

勸修中，初科，前示二懺不同。福順生者，人天有漏順生死故；道逆流者，三乘無漏逆生死故。出入據所克之果，愚智即能修之機，虛實約所修之行；一一分對事理二懺，淺深可見。故下，正勸。文出《心論》，令自觀量；樂罪修事者，轉愚為智也；樂福修理者，轉鈍為利也；理通深淺者，利有強弱也。

Under 'Encouraging cultivation,' the first section first shows the differences between the two kinds of deśanā. 'Blessings accord with birth': human and heavenly outflows accord with saṃsāra; 'the Path runs against the flow': the three vehicles' taintless [dharmas] run counter to saṃsāra. Exit and entry are based on the attained fruition; foolishness and wisdom are the faculties capable of cultivation; emptiness and reality relate to the practices cultivated. Each is paired with the two deśanās of phenomena and principle, and their shallowness and depth can be seen. 'Therefore...' directly encourages below. The text comes from the Heart Treatise, causing one to contemplate and assess oneself: those who delight in sins and cultivate phenomena turn foolishness into wisdom; those who delight in blessings and cultivate principle turn dullness into sharpness; that the principle spans the profound and the shallow means sharpness has strong and weak degrees.
