釋總名中三，初釋上起；又下，二釋提舍那；欲下，三釋制憶持；初中又三，初徵名。往下，釋義，初約先犯反顯，次約懺悔順釋。約遮相續，謂以善遮惡也。受即受體，持即隨行。是下，總合。提舍那者，亦即懺悔之通名。

In explaining the general names, there are three: first, explaining 'rising upward'; 'Also...' below, second, explains 'deśanā'; 'Desiring...' below, third, explains 'restricting memory and retention'. In the first there are also three: first, inquiring into the name. 'Going to...' below explains the meaning: first, showing it inversely by referring to the prior offense; next, showing it directly by referring to deśanā. In terms of obstructing continuity, it means obstructing evil with good. 'Reception' is the reception-essence; 'retention' is the subsequent practice. 'This...' below synthesizes them. 'Deśanā' is also the general name for repentance.
