In the seventh: first is the method of announcing to a single bhikṣu. Going to another monastery, guest bhikṣus, and so forth, all follow this. In the words of announcement, "May the Venerable Saṃgha listen" is a scribal error; it should say "May the Venerable One be of one mind and mindful", because it is announcing to another individual. From "if five persons" below is the method of announcing to many people. If based on facing the saṃgha, it should say "May the saṃgha listen"; yet saying "Venerable Ones" is because it is not a saṃgha act; however, since one cannot announce individually, it follows brevity; only later when announcing at the poṣadha may one address them as "saṃgha". From "there is" below is the method of announcing to guest monks. Those with virtue and prestige among the bhikṣus must be treated differently from ordinary persons. From "its" below points to the method of announcing to the saṃgha. "Poṣadha, etc." refers to all occasions when the assembly gathers.
