The next section has two parts: first, it clarifies whether falling short of the full count is permissible; from "if practicing" below, it clarifies following the Dharma when the days are complete. In the first part, it first demonstrates different views: some say one must fully practice until the days are complete, some say one may follow a few days of practice, and some say one need not practice at all. If of superior faculties following the strict, one should adopt the first master; if of inferior capacity whose faculties are lax, then relying on the Daśādhyāya-vinaya, one does not practice parivāsa, yet the clearance of offenses is achieved; what is widely practiced nowadays quite accords with the needs of the times and does not violate the holy teachings. From "now" below, it next reveals what is adopted at present: first, it cites what was transmitted by that [school]. Using that to verify this means using the lenient text of the Daśādhyāya-vinaya to verify the strict teaching of this school; in principle one must take the middle, hence it says "mutually adjusted"; "verify" means to prove. From "although" below, it makes additions and modifications based on principle: first, it instructs modifying the karmavācanā. The subsequent motions and karmavācanās refer to the six nights, the clearance of offenses, and so forth. From "should" below, it orders making a motion to the saṃgha to ask for harmony. The latter two supplications and karmavācanās both enumerate the details in accordance with falling short of the full count.
